Matsushima Town

The town that Matsushima which is one of the three most beautiful scenery in Japan is located.: Matsushima town is located at center of coastal area Miyagi prefecture. It has 53.36 square kilometers, and half of it is forest centering around Matsushima hills. Matsushima is consisted of over 260 large and small islands, and its scenery is counted as a one of the three most beautiful scenery such as Miyajima in Hiroshima prefecture and Amanohashidate in Kyoto prefecture. In the city, there are 7 stations that are JR Sendai line and Tohoku line, so it is easy to access to the other area. It is about 45 minutes to go to Matushima Kaigan Station from Ishinomaki Station.

Fukuura Bridge

A 252 meters red bridge connecting Fukuurashima on the east side of the Matsushima coast and the land. The bridge is called Deaibashi, and it is believed that it will bring wonderful encounter. Masamune Date who passed away in only 19 years old. His legitimate grandson is Mitsumune. The precincts of Mitsumune’s Bodaiji temple are consisted of 4 gardens which includes rose garden. There is a matchmaking goddess of mercy, so many people visit here to pray for love, employment and an entrance examination.

Shinichi Chiba, the 5th generation of the confectionary store Matsukodou founded in the Meiji period reopened. They serve the sweets used high-quality ingredients that do not fit into Japanese and Western style with the concept that good points of the present and the past. KANJUN-TEI

It is a part of Fushimi Momoyama castle which Masamune Date received as a gift from Hideyoshi Toyotomi, and Masamune relocated it to Edo Shinagawa. It is said that the second feudal lord Tadamune moved it here without changing even one rock and one branch. Kanran means seeing ripples. There is Matsushima museum and also you can drink maccha.
